Container Freight Rates, Production Figures and Trading Trends under the spotlight at 9th CSTA Webinar
The 9th CSTA Members Webinar – presented by Drewry, the leading Container Shipping Research Consultancy – provided an overview of the Container Freight Rates over over the past year, together with a prognosis for Q4 2021 and 2022. It also covered trends in freight rates, container production figures and container price trends – together with an assessment of the Impact on Trader Container Market.
The Webinar presenter, John Fossey – Drewry’s Senior Analyst, Container Equipment – confirmed that newbuild dry freight container prices are at record high levels. Continuing strong demand for dry freight containers has pushed prices to record highs with 40ft high cube standard dry freight units costing more then US$6,800 in 3Q21.
Be aware that the figures displayed are the average price paid by major lessors and ocean carriers who place orders of hundreds of thousands of containers. Prices for smaller orders will be greater.
